To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of tamp bar.

III. Process

C. Inspection

1. Check handle and head for any signs of wear or damage, replace as needed. 

D. Use

1. Ensure a firm grip on tamper. 
2. Stand with feet should-width apart and position yourself directly over the area to be compacted. 
3. Apply force to the hand tamper in a consistent manner, moving from one section to another methodically. Avoid putt all the pressure on one spot. 
4. Ensure soil has the correct soil moisture content. Sprinkle water on soil before tamping. 
5. Work in then layers and compact thoroughly before adding next layer. Continue until desired compaction is achieved. 

E. Maintenance

1. Clean after each use to remove dirt and debris.
