To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of tamp bar.

III. Process
NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual.
A. Potential Hazards
- Ergonomics Hazard
- Slip, Trip, Fall Hazard

C. Inspection
- Check handle and head for any signs of wear or damage, replace as needed.
D. Use
- Ensure a firm grip on tamper.
- Stand with feet should-width apart and position yourself directly over the area to be compacted.
- Apply force to the hand tamper in a consistent manner, moving from one section to another methodically. Avoid putt all the pressure on one spot.
- Ensure soil has the correct soil moisture content. Sprinkle water on soil before tamping.
- Work in then layers and compact thoroughly before adding next layer. Continue until desired compaction is achieved.
E. Maintenance
- Clean after each use to remove dirt and debris.
