C. Inspection

1. Check to ensure handle is firmly attached to the head.
2. Check the head to ensure that it is free of cracks or distortion.
3. Check the handle for cracks.

D. Use

1. Use proper lifting techniques when raising the sledgehammer.
2. Always use two hands to swing the sledgehammer.
