
I. Purpose & Scope
To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of reciprocating saws.

Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots
III. Process
NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual.
A. Potential Hazards
- Flame and/or explosion hazard

C. Inspection
- Inspect for any cracks or damage.
- Inspect blades for missing teeth or damage.
D. Use
- To unlock the trigger switch, press the lock-off button.
- Pull the switch to turn the motor on.
- Releasing the trigger switch turn the motor off.
- To lock the trigger switch, press the lock-off button. Always lock the trigger switch when carrying or storing the tool.
- Ensure material to be cut is visible within all 360 degrees.
- Blade shall only cut what is intended and cannot be allowed to cut into the soil.
E. Maintenance
- Clean dirt and grease from the exterior of the tool (not the blade) using a cloth or soft non-metallic brush after each use. Do not use water or any cleaning solutions.
