To provide steps for safely and effectively using a manual ground rod driver.

C. Inspection
- Inspect the ground rod driver for mushrooming, damaged or missing handles, or any other defects which can impair the effectiveness and safety of the tool.
- If the tool is found to be out of compliance, tie a red tag to the tool and write Do Not Use on the tag.
- Store the damaged tool away so that it will not be accidentally taken. As soon as able, turn the tool into the shop for replacement or repair.
D. Use
- Slide the ground rod inside the socket.
- Slide the tool up and down the rod allowing the impact hammer to contact the rod tip.
- Once the rod is driven down far enough into the ground that the ground rod driver is no longer effective, remove the driver and reverse the tool so that the rod can be driven below grade.
E. Maintenance
No maintenance is required for this tool.
