To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of manhole hooks.

Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots

III. Process

C. Inspection

1. Inspect for damage, bends or deformations

D. Use

1. Insert the narrow tip of the manhole hook into the slot of the manhole.
2. Using your legs and a straight back, lift the manhole hook to raise the manhole cover from the manhole.
3. Using caution move the manhole cover to a secure location and remove manhole hook.
