I. Purpose & Scope

To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of hack saws.

II. Definitions

Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots.

III. Process

NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual.

C. Inspection

1. Inspect for missing teeth, bends, cracks or other damage.

D. Use

1. Secure the material to be cut to reduce movement while cutting.
2. Cut the material with even strokes and slight pressure against the material, keeping in mind that the blade only cuts in one direction.

E. Maintenance

1. Wipe the saw clean after each use.
