To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of extension cords.
II. Definitions
Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots.
III. Process
NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual.

C. Inspection
- Inspect for external defects such as deformed or missing pins or insulation damage.
- Inspect for indications of possible internal damage.
- Inspect for cracked or frayed sockets.
- Inspect for loose or bare wires.
- Inspect for loose connections.
D. Use
- Ensure extension cord is rated for the intended use.
- Ensure GFCI protection is available, and in good repair.
- Plug extension cord into power source
- Plug tool into extension cord.
- When extension cord is no longer needed, unplug cord from tool and power source by the plug and not the cord.
E. Maintenance
No maintenance required for this tool.
