I. Purpose & Scope

To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of deburring tools.

II. Definitions

Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots.

III. Process

NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual. 

A. Potential Hazards

B. PPE

• Respiratory Protection – Recommended

C. Inspection

1. Check for damage and loose parts
2. Check for dents or damage in attachments

D. Use

1. Choose the right attachment and secure it to the tool.
2. Place deburring tool against the edge you wish to deburr.
3. Go over the area two or three times to ensure edge is completely deburred.
4. Check the edges to ensure all burrs have been removed.
