To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of chisels.

Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots

III. Process

C. Inspection

1. Inspect for dull chisel blades and rust.
2. Ensure the handle is securely attached to the chisel blade.

D. Use

1. Neatly scribe a line with a knife or marking gauge.
2. Place the chisel in the scribed line and gently drive it with a series of mallet taps.
3. Wiggle the tool side to side as you apply pressure.
