
I. Purpose & Scope
To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of Barricades.
II. Definitions
Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots.
III. Process
NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual.

C. Inspection
- Ensure barricade reflective strips are clean and not damaged or degraded.
- If barricade is of folding design ensure the hinges are in proper working order and can open and stand upright.
D. Use
- Place barricades so that reflective strips are facing traffic.
- Ensure stripe pattern indicates the correct direction of traffic.
- A slant downward and to the left means traffic should go to the left.
- A slant downward to the right means traffic should go to the right
- Provide stable supports to keep barricades upright if required to prevent barricades from being blown over or displaced.
