I. Purpose & Scope

To safely and effectively provide instruction on the inspection and proper use of Allen wrenches.

II. Definitions

Standard PPE – High Viz Garment, Hard Hat, Z-87.1 Safety Glasses, Gloves, Pants, Work Boots.

III. Process

NOTE: Work instruction does not supplement the manual. For specific instructions for the exact model please refer to the owner’s manual.

C. Inspection

1. Check for rust, bends and stripping.

D. Use

1. Ensure you have the correct size Allen wrench to the bolt.
2. Carefully insert the tip of the Allen wrench into the hexagonal cross section of the bolt and proceed to firmly turn the wrench in a clockwise fashion to tightened and counter clockwise if you wish to loosen.
3. Continue turning the bolt until it sufficiently tightened or the bolt is sufficiently loosed or detached as desired.
